Te Korowai o Wainuiārua and Mōkai Pātea Nui Tonu relationship agreement

On Friday the 27 November 2020, Mōkai Pātea Waitangi Claims Trust hosted Aiden Gilbert Chair Person Uenuku Charitable Trust, Steve Hirini, and Paora Haitana on behalf of Te Korowai or Wainuarua.  The four Iwi Rūnanga who established the Mōkai Pātea Waitangi Claims Trust, Te Korowai o Wainuiārua and Mōkai Pātea Waitangi Claims Trust signed a relationship agreement.  The agreement reflects the respective understanding of mana whenua interests and the mutual desire to support each other’s treaty settlement aspirations. Moira Raukawa-Haskell holds a photograph of the whanau of Kingi Topia Turoa at Pou o Rangi.
