Following up on the adjournment of hearing 16 until 10 to 12 August 2021.

On 27 May 2021, the Waitangi Tribunal Registrar was directed to advise parties to the Taihape: Rangitīkei ki Rangipō District Inquiry that hearing 16 scheduled for 9 to 11 June 2021, to be held at Moawhango Marae, has had to be vacated.

The reason for the adjournment is the late receipt of all Crown closing submissions to be presented at hearing 16.  The Tribunal has had to adjourn the hearing by nine weeks and regrets the impact of this on claimants.

The Tribunal now confirms 10 to 12 August 2021 is when hearing 16 can be scheduled. Parties will understand that the panel has many competing commitments, so this was the next available date for all Tribunal members.

We now wait for the Tribunal to confirm that all parties are available and the date for hearing week 16 adjourned dates 10 to 12 August 2021 are confirmed along with a venue decision.
